How to set Firing Rules for Events

Firing Rules control when an event fires.  You can set Firing Rules so that an event fires only when a user visits a specific page on your website, or when a user visits a type of page (such as viewing a product page).

TIP: Use * as a wildcard to match any path value.

Path Description / Example
* or /*

Fire on all pages - * is a wildcard and means all values

This is powerful if you want a general, but we recommend setting rules that are more specific.

/ Fires ONLY on page / (homepage)
/contact Fires ONLY on page /contact
/user*

Fires on ALL pages STARTING with /user

example:   "/user/1235" or "/user/profile"

/product/*

Fires on ALL pages STARTING with /product/

example:    "/product/1235ABC" or "/product/blue-jeans"

/category/*/product/*

 Fires on ALL pages containing the pattern /category/*/product/

example:   "/category/shoes/product/1235ABC"

or: "/category/men/product/blue-jeans"
